It's the end of 2005, things were not looking good for Anipike, its software needed to be upgraded, more users are beginning to use Google instead, and there were even rumors of closing down Anipike after the shutdown of AnimeFringe. In order to keep up with the time, something had to be done to Anipike. After a successful fund raiser, Anipike began the process of designing a more user-friendly and more accessible interface.
The 2006 Revamp
In April of 2006, the Anipike re-launches for a second time. The website now runs on In-Portal. The layout has been changed completely to better integrate with its magazine and news reporting, the link database has been re-organized, and old features like the Gallery came back. Most noticeable of all features is the JuiceCaster, which allows users to create their own blogs through their Anipike account, as well as being granted with many other social-networking options. DENVER, COLORADO - June 1, 2006 - Anipike is pleased to announce they are celebrating their 10th anniversary, commemorating it by giving the site an extensive redesign.
The redesign includes making it easier for users to navigate; improved search and user tools to administer links; and easily accessible forums, galleries, chats, blogs, as well as other useful tools. In addition, users with cellular phones can create blogs, v-logs, and watch videos up to 50 MB in size.
Currently there are over 44,000 links at Anipike, and throughout the month there will be further design modifications to maintain the site's user-friendly functionality.
