So, where are all the professional manga sites? No, not blogs, but sites on the level of ANN and such in terms of “professionalism.” Over the past few years, manga-related sites have rising exponentially, but will there ever be a day when a true “professional” manga site is born?

Sometimes I also wonder how many of those “professional” anime sites actually pay all their staff members…

The observation that the online manga world is still alive without ComiPress gives me an idea…maybe come this fall, I should just quietly disappear! (Finally some more time for gaming, woot!) *evil laugh*

AnimeExpo sends out the most press releases ever! “AX will have special backstage presentations!” “AX will have cookies available in the frontdoor!” “AX will be awesome!” “AX will be sending out another press release in an hour!”

Since when did MangaBlog put ads on its site? Miss the good ol’ days when it was just all text and information (not even images!).

Expect another Backstage feature soon. Too bad it doesn’t look like the Backstage feature for Love Manga and Irresponsible Pictures (the proto manga blogs) will be completed anytime soon…should have finished them when their authors were still around (now they’re all underground and ignoring poor me)!

I’m never going to make fun of people with ridiculous ping in online games.

The only thing that was a bit let down was the unexpectedly bad internet…or maybe I should have expected it haha, either way, my summer manga-posting plan may just have been cut down by 1/2…ouch T_T

I have to say, the latest version of everyone’s favorite blogging engine is pretty nice (Drupal’s still better though ;P), I especially like the new admin theme.

Time to play around with the new software!

*Okay so  that was a poor attempt at trying to make this blog look not dead, hehehe…

Anyway, back on topic, below are a few games I’ve been playing a lot lately, most of them are pretty old actually, but that doesn’t mean they can’t still be fun!

N - Pretty addicting and simple platformer…use it to pass time during boring lecture ho ho.

Dwarf Fortress - Very deep game, addicting too, that is, if you can get past the ASCII graphics.

Babo Violent - One of the main reason CP don’t get as much update as it used to.

Drupal is very powerful, and in the hands of a skilled person, can be used to create almost any kind of site. So, with the recent release of Drupal 6 (yea, I’m kind of late posting this, actually, lol), many times I’ve been tempted to upgrade CP to Drupal 6.

So what’s stopping me? Well, first of all, Drupal 5 modules (think Drupal plugins) and themes don’t work with version 6, meaning if I upgrade, I need to re-create the theme (or I could just make a new one, ho ho), given the amount of time I have now, that’s not likely to happen soon (since I need time to play more games! haha *runs*).

Also, many modules that CP relies on have not been upgraded yet, so instead of upgrading and see a CP with many features gone, I’ve decided to wait a while, maybe till the summer, to fully upgrade the site. Worry not, I’m already running a couple other sites on Drupal 6 to test the thing out, and so far it’s amazing! Can’t wait to try out some of the new features of CP when the time comes hehehe.
