Hello, i heard so many great things about Suzumiya Haruhi so i thought about giving it a shot. The thing is, i don't know if i should watch the anime first then read the light novel or do the opposite.
I read the prologue of the volume 1 and i really loved it, so i'm more tempted of reading the light novel first.
What do you guys think?

I would recommend reading the light novel first. The anime is great and done by a great animation studio, but nothing beats the original material

Think of the anime as just an extra to the light novel. The main course is the original light novel and the dessert is the anime LOL

Hmm I think it's better to watch the anime first, just because people in the U.S. don't really have access to the novels (other than online translation). Also, many people who find the anime great may find the light novel not as exciting, since anime and light novels are really different in many ways...watch the anime and get an idea of what the light novel is like.

Well too late Eclipse, i followed Neosam advice and needless to say, i don't regret it at all.
I'd have never believed it would be this great. I thought before reading it that it was just going to be some good highschool comedy, not an amazingly awesome Sci-fi story!!!
I only read the first volume (i loved the ending), and i'm really curious to see how the anime turned out to be. The thing that i'm most curious (and worried) about is the fact that it's not in chronological order... wtf?!?
Anyway i can't wait to watch the anime, unfortunately it won't be anytime soon 'cause i'm moving and i won't have neither a computer nor internet at first

ps: anyone know the name of the fansub team who translated the books? 'cause they did a very good job to say the least
