After two years in the making, the Kyoto International Manga Museum, a project founded by Kyoto Seika University and supported by the city of Kyoto, will be opened on November 25th. According to Animaxis, "the museum will collect, display, and preserve manga as well as conduct manga culture-related research and study. Initially the museum will house an estimated 200,000 items, storing everything from Meiji era classics to modern hits and manga produced overseas."

"The Roots of Modern Manga & Anime and its Future," a special commemorative panel, will be held the day before the grand opening. The first first exhibition of the museum is called "Manga of the World," which open until January 2007.
