Leiji Matsumoto Museum In Kitakyushu

ANS reports that a new Leiji Matsumoto museum will be built in Kitakyushu. The museum is estimated for completion in 2009, and the redevelopment required is estimated to be several billion yen:

A Nishi-nippon railroad space adjacent to the "Dai Chachataun" in Kitakyushu shi, Kokurakitaku maybe developed to include a museum to legendary Yamato animator and mangaka Leiji Matsumoto. Redevelopment of district including these facilities is estimated in the several billion Yen range, estimated for completion around 2009. The city in 2006 allocated a budget of five million Yen toward the "Investigation concerning animation culture promotion". Past exhibition of a Maetel doll from area native Matstumoto's Galaxy Express 999 in the nearby Northern Kyushu International Airport was considered highly successful.
