Megabaka Accused of Plagiarising Death Note, Kodansha ApologizesJapanese readers recently noted similarities between Naka Gomura's manga Megabaka, serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine's January 11th Special Issue: Magazine Dragon, and other popular series such as Death Note, Air Gear and MPD-Psycho. On December 21st, Kodansha issued an official announcement announcing that the manga's creator, Naka Gomura, has admitted to plagiarizing other works. The announcement apologizes for the plagiarism, and stated that the manga will be withdrawn from Kodansha's magazine. Source: Sankei Shimbun via ANN |
