The Zatch Bell anime will premiere this week on Cartoon Network Brazil. Behind the scene, the Globo Network (large brazilian broadcast channel that reaches 99% of the domestic territory) has acquired the exhibition rights to the anime. The premiere in the "€œopen television"€ will happen in 2007.

Around 17,000 visitors are expected at this year's Arena Gamer Experience 2006 in Brazil. The Brazilian Trade fair will feature five major gaming competitions, including final qualifying rounds of a worldwide championship.

"Mercenarios" is a book on the history of manga style that's being published online. The first edition of the book is available in bookstores and newsstands in Brazil. The book's website contains images, character drawings, RPG, and information on the authors: Fran Briggs, Petra Leo, Claudia Medeiros and Elisa Kwon. The site is in Portuguese and the story is in published in PDF.

AnimeCon - one of the biggest anime events in Brazil, will take place this weekend (July 21, 22 and 23) in SÃo Paulo. While some of AnimeCon's events will be similar to Anime Friends, there'll also be presentations/lectures from publishers of game magazines, national attractions, and the attendance of the Naruto voice actors. Manga publisher JBC plans to launch its El Hazard manga during the event.

The SANA Convention (Super Amostra Nacional de Animes) will take place on July 15-16 in Fortaleza City (CE - Brazil). Events include video exhibitions, cosplay competitions, and more. The main attraction this year is the presence of popular voice actors (Gilberto Baroli, Christiano Torreão, Miriam Fischer, Élcio Sodré) and journalists (Elza Keiko and Sidney Gusman).

Panini Comics Brazil will be launching Kare Kano by Masami Tsuda in July. The price of the manga has not been announced.

The Brazilian manga publisher Conrad has recently released Sanctuary by Sho Fumimura/Ryoichi Ikegami, and Nausucaa by Hayao Miyazaki.
