Fred Gallagher, one of the first guests announced for Connichi 2007, revealed that he won't be able to attend this year's convention "due to family circumstances."

Connichi 2007, one of the biggest anime and manga convention in Germany, will take place from September 7th to 9th at the Kongress Palais in Kassel, Germany.

The Connichi 2007 in Kassel, Germany is proud to announce that seiquu and singer Halko Momoi will perform live on this years Connichi.

Haruko "Halko" Momoi started as a singer of the girl-group "UNDER17". After the group parted in 2004 she began her solo career as seiyuu ("Soul Taker", "Nurse Witch Komugi-chan", "D.C. ~Da Capo~", "DearS", "Final Fantasy: Unlimited", "Paranoia Agent") and also as solo singer. She also writes j-pop songs, writes books, has her own radio show and is also an actress.

Deutsche Mangaka reports that Tokyopop has licensed the popular German manga Gothic Sports by Anike Hage. The first volume will be released in the U.S. on May 8th.

The Wild Side, a German BL manga publisher, is looking into becoming a general manga publisher:

The Wild Side has decided to do some branching out. Aside from Yaoi and Shounen Ai we also want to publish mangas with other adult oriented themes like Shounen, Horror, Thriller, Action and so on. The stories should be mature and well thought out, sex is optional.
