Ivrea Publishing has announced an event to commemorate the 40th edition of the magazine Lazer, one of the most well-known publications on anime and manga in Argentina. The event, called "Night Lazer," will take place in Buenos Aires on December 7th. The event will only open to people who are over 18 years old. The Ivrea website promises anime, music and cosplay at the event.

Ivrea Publishing has announced that it plans to release Takehiko Inoue's samurai manga Vagabond (バガボンド) in Argentina. The manga will have approximately the same format as its Japanese counterpart (12,8 x 18 cm). Ivrea promises that the manga will be released in the beginning of 2007, in either February or March.

This weekend (October 27, 28 and 29), Dr. Masami Toku will appear in Caracas, Venezuela.

Masami Toku is the special guest of the Anime and Manga Festival hosted by the Japan Embassy at Venezuela. She will be showing her research on "Shojo Manga Power!"

VIZ Media will be releasing Death Note in various European countries later this year as reported earlier. However, on the topic of whether the company will bring Death Note to other parts of the world, VIZ informed Papo de Budega that it currently doesn't have plans of releasing the manga in Brazil and other Latin America countries.

From Papo de Budega comes an interview with Daniel Castañeda, General Manager of Cloverway. Cloverway has released numerous blockbuster series in Latin America such as Ranma ½, Samurai Champloo, Trigun, and Love Hina among others. Castañeda found time to talk with Papo de Budega about anime titles and the company's relation with Cartoon Network, which airs a majority of their anime.
