The second annual Akihabara Entamatsuri Festival will take place from Saturday, October 21st to Sunday, Octover 29th in Akihabara. The event will be hosted in conjunction with the 9-day Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) in an effort to draw more international attention to Japanese anime, manga, and videogames.

Many anime series will be shown at one particular event called "animecs T!FF in Akihabara," which will include series such as Mobile Suit Gundam, Ghost in the Shell - Solid State Society, Fist of the North Star Raoh Side Story Junai Arc film, and Neon Genesis Evangelion The End of Evangelion.

Details of the upcoming film version of Media Work's Shakugan no Shana, Kino no Tabi, and Inukami! will be announced on stage in AKIBA_SQUARE. Also, videogame fans will also be able to try out the new Playstation 3.

ANS reports that a new Osamu Tezuka art exhibition called "Tezuka: the Marvel of Manga" will take place in Australia at NGV International on 3 November 2006.

According to Tony Ellwood, NGV Deputy Director, "The planning of Tezuka: the Marvel of Manga has involved over five years of complex negotiations to release important material from Tezuka Productions in Tokyo. This is the first time Tezuka's original drawings have been seen in the West."

A new event called Otaku Festival will be hosted at the National Dance Center and the Desant Theater in Bucharest, Romania on October 7 and 8. According to the organizers, "the purpose of the event is to encourage the otaku phenomenon in Romania."

Kita High Festival, a convention centered on sales of Suzumiya Haruhi-only doujinshi and events, will take place in Chiyoda-Ku, Tokyo on September 17th between 12-4pm.

The 2006 Guangdong Animation Art Fair (also called Art Fair of Animation or AFA) will be taking place in Guangzhou City Exhibition Center from October 1st - October 5th). Events include manga exhibitions, dance competitions, a Lolita Princess Contest, a "Culture and History of Cosplay" filming event, etc. Also planned for the Fair is the "Click Anime Web" service (powered by "DigiBook"), where fans will be able to read their favorite manga on computers located throughout the fair.

An Osamu Tezuka Print Exhibition will be held in the basement art gallery of Maruzen Okayama Symphony Building in Okayamashi, Japan. There is no entry fee, and the prints will be sold during the exhibition. Colored prints from over 30 series will be displayed, including Dororo, Black Jack, Phoenix, and more.
