A few days ago, Kadokawa Taiwan issued a statement explaining that the Haruhi novel is in fact not an adult novel, and asks the TV show to better organize its programs in order to avoid further confusion: GRIMES, IA, July 25, 2007 – Right Stuf, Inc. and Nozomi Entertainment are pleased to announce the Fall 2007 release of two official T-shirts featuring artwork from the hit anime series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
On 1/20, Animate began selling tickets in advance at selected stores and online website for 4,500 yen. As expected, the tickets were sold out in a very short amount of time. Now the tickets are available on Yahoo Auction for 10x the original price. The ticket of a good seat was sold for 66,000 yen, while tickets of slightly less desirable seats are around 30,000 yen. Combining Moe and education is nothing new. After the success of Moetan (English), educational books featuring cute characters aimed at otaku have become increasingly popular, some examples include Moe Economics (Economics), Kabu de Ikou! (Stock Trading), and Tsundere Linux (Linux). English otaku blog Cardcaptor's Blog recently announced "Moeru Kakuritsu Moekaku," (Budding Probability Moekaku), a guide to probability theory taught by Nagato Yuki from the Suzumiya Haruhi universe: Kita High Festival, a convention centered on sales of Suzumiya Haruhi-only doujinshi and events, will take place in Chiyoda-Ku, Tokyo on September 17th between 12-4pm.
