Despite the recent series of unfortunate events surrounding Death Note, the release date of the upcoming movie will not be affected -- not only will the movie premier in Japan on November 3rd, but it will also be released in Hong Kong and Taiwan on the same day. On September 16, the Hong Kong government held a license plate auction, where a "GUNDAM" plate was sold for 110,000 Hong Kong Dollars (approximately 14,000 USD). Other plates sold during the auction included "1 LOVE U", "HANDSOME", "BEATLES", "BABYFACE", etc. The highest bid was "1 LOVE U" at 1.4 million HKD.
