BL publisher Iris Print is accepting short story submissions for its new "fairy tale and fantasy" anthology (currently unnamed), which wil be released in Summer 2007. The story has to contain between 3,000 and 12,000 words, with a theme of folklore, fairy tales, fantasy, and an element of male/male romance.
Submission Guidelines:
TYPE OF WORK: Usually, short stories should fit the guidelines for a specific call for submissions. These guidelines will be posted to the web site, and will contain all necessary details about genre, theme, length, or other qualities we're looking for.
However, if you have a story that doesn't fit a current anthology project, you may submit it for consideration anyway. Chances are worse that it'll be chosen for publication, but we do occasionally have needs for non-anthology short stories, and the type of submissions we receive will often influence our next projects. Any theme or genre is acceptable, but stories should generally be between 3,000 and 12,000 words, and must always contain an element of male/male romance.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: To have your short story published with Iris Print, you must:
- be at least 18 years of age.
- be the sole copyright owner of the material you are submitting.
- live in an area that does not restrict digital transmission of the material you are submitting.
- be able to submit your work in a format readable by a Windows computer.
- be able to meet ridiculous deadlines set by merciless slave-drivers.
If you meet all the above criteria, send an email query to submissions@boyslovebooks.comThis email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it with a subject line of "Short Story Submission". If you are responding to a specific call for submissions, please mention that in your email. Attach the complete story to the email (in a common, Windows-readable format). Alternatively, you may link to the story if it is accessible online, but be sure to link directly to it--if we have to go searching for it, we probably won't.
