ANN reports that Del Rey has announced at their AnimeNEXT panel two new acquisitions:
MangaCast points out that Del Rey has acquired Basilisk author Masaki Segawa's Yagyu Ninja Scrolls. The manga, which was licensed during NYCC, is currently listed on Del Rey's release schedule for Q4 2007 (PDF). The first volume will be released in October 2007. NEW YORK, NY, May 15, 2007 - Del Rey Manga, an imprint of Ballantine Books at the Random House Publishing Group, announced today that it has acquired an original graphic novel starring Odd Thomas, perhaps the most memorable and beloved character Dean Koontz has ever created. Currently three different versions of the Train Man manga are being released by Del Rey, Viz Media, and CMX. Initially announced Sunday, February 25, 2007 at the New York Comic Con, these series' initial volumes are planned for publication in Fall 2007 SHIKI TSUKAI manga by Toru Zeku and art by Yuna Takanagi, the action-packed environmental-themed adventures of the shiki tuskai--"Keepers of the Seasons"--who are entrusted with defending the universe's natural order againt the forces that threaten it. More new titles announced at NYCC 07: Yen Press: Del Rey: Del Rey also announced a Complete Guide to Manga, a guide book to all the manga released in the U.S. CMX: Also, Bandai has announced that it will release its Witchblade manga in June 2007. According to Publishers Marketplace, Del Rey is looking for a new Associate Publicist. The candidate needs to have "2-5 years publicity experience in book publishing and knowledge of the media, marketplace and competition, preferably in the Sci-Fi / Fantasy/ Manga/ Graphic Novel genres.
