Kentarou Miura's Berserk will resume serialization in issue 2 (1/12) of Hakusensha's Young Animal after a break of over three months.

The Japanese government is running a full-page advertisement in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine No.52 (on sale November 29th), which read "Stop! Bullying." This is Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe instructed that the ad be published in both shonen and shoujo manga magazines for the very first time, stating that "children will not read the ad if they are run in newspapers."

Fruits Basket, the popular shojo manga by Natsuki Takaya, has finally ended in issue 24 of Hakusensha's manga anthology Hana to Yume (final chapter 136). Fruits Basket is currently being published in the U.S. by Tokyopop.

Hakusensha has posted its Young Anime website videos of last month's Detroit Metal City event, which took place at Tower Record in Shinbuya.

A special Detroit Metal City event took place last weekend at Tower Record in Shinbuya, where author Kiminori Wakasugi held an autograph session. Special products, T-shirts, and limited edition items were also sold.

Detroit Metal City is a seinen/comedy manga by Kiminori Wakasugi currently serialized in Hakusensha's Young Animal, and the story revolves around a hard rock band.

Hakusensha, together with a yet-to-be-named Chinese publisher, will bring Natsuki Takaya's popular shojo manga Fruits Basket to mainland China.

Following the footsteps of manga such as The Prince of Tennis, Inuyasha, and Dragon Ball, the release of Fruits Basket marks yet another large scale official release of a popular series in China. Fruits Basket will also become the first shojo manga with an official version released in China (bootlegged versions, on the other hand, are in abundance).
