2007 marks the 5th anniversary of Mag Garden's shonen/seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Blade. To commemorate the special occasion, Mag Garden completely revamped Comic Blade's homepage. Also, the April issue of Comic Blade came with with special commemoration playing cards.

Shogakukan has announced that its new shounen light novel label Gagaga Bunko will launch on May 24th. The label's 10-title lineup includes a novel adaptation of Kenjiro Hata's Hayate the Combat Butler, written by Toshihiko Tsukiji.

The official website of Yoshimoto Kogyo's new seinen/comedy magazine Comic Yoshimoto has been launched at www.comicyoshimoto.jp. The frontpage contains a fun Flash feature where visitors can drag and slide around the speech bubbles. According to Yoshimoto Kogyo, Comic Yoshimoto will be released sometime this Spring.

Manga Jouhou translates an article titled "Doujinshi Goes Mainstream!?" from Artscape. The article looks at the growing success of doujinshi in Japan, and focuses on two particular subjects, the comic convention Comic Market (Comiket) and the game company Type-Moon.

Short Song, Masuno Koichi's (poet/writer/etc.) first novel, will be adapted into a manga by Yua Kotegawa (Arcana, Anne Freaks). The new manga will begin serialization in Super Jump No. 8, on sale 3/28.

A special one-shot story from Gosho Aoyama, creator of Detective Conan (Case Closed), will appear in Shogakukan's Weekly Young Sunday issue 16, on sale 3/22.

The one-shot, titled Tell Me A Lie -Lies being Attached to Me-, is said to be Gosho Aoyama's first new story after 13 years.

Houbunsha will launch a new magazine titled Comic Yell on May 11th. The magazine will cost 580 yen, and is aimed at "boys of the next generation."

A new magazine titled Comic MoeMax will be launched by Moeru Publishing on April 24th. The new magazine is aimed at adults, and will be every month for 540 yen.

World Cosplay Summit 2005 winner Francesca Dani will participate in Brazilian WCS 2007 Final, according to JBC, the publishing company that organizes the event in Brazil.
