March, 2007According to JBC Publishing, the release of Fruits Basket volume 21 will be delayed in Brazil. The reason is to keep up with the Japanese release. Fruits Basket volume 23 arrived this week in the Japanese market. According to JBC, "edition 21 arrived here 2 weeks ago, and now the manga team is working on its production". There is currently no release date for volume 21, 22 and 23. JBC said it plans to release Fruits Basket until the very end. The new magazine, aimed at people between the ages of 20 to 30, contains manga, game, and movies news/reviews, as well as Japanese pop culture reports from the 70s and 80s. Source: Akadot According to Mision Tokyo, Spanish publisher MangaLine has licensed Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO) by Tohru Fujisawa and Yûgo (Yûgo el Negociador) by Shinji Makari & Shuu Akana. Thanks Sheila MPD-Psycho was deemed too shocking for other publishers, with violent images that most thought were too graphic for the American public. But coming this June, the most-requested manga series in recent memory will be presented uncut and uncensored from Dark Horse Comics. Haruka Takachiho's best-selling novels in Japan are the subject of an animated series, three motion pictures, and a series of graphic novels. From ANN's Taipei International Book Exhibition Con Report comes an interview with manga artist Yuzu Tsutae and her editor Ms. Kumagai. In the interview Yuzu Tsutae talks about how she became a manga artist, her opinion on the BL genre, and other fan-oriented tidbits. The article looks at the growing success of doujinshi in Japan, and focuses on two particular subjects, the comic convention Comic Market (Comiket) and the game company Type-Moon. Short Song, Masuno Koichi's (poet/writer/etc.) first novel, will be adapted into a manga by Yua Kotegawa (Arcana, Anne Freaks). The new manga will begin serialization in Super Jump No. 8, on sale 3/28. A special one-shot story from Gosho Aoyama, creator of Detective Conan (Case Closed), will appear in Shogakukan's Weekly Young Sunday issue 16, on sale 3/22. The one-shot, titled Tell Me A Lie -Lies being Attached to Me-, is said to be Gosho Aoyama's first new story after 13 years. Houbunsha will launch a new magazine titled Comic Yell on May 11th. The magazine will cost 580 yen, and is aimed at "boys of the next generation." A new magazine titled Comic MoeMax will be launched by Moeru Publishing on April 24th. The new magazine is aimed at adults, and will be every month for 540 yen. World Cosplay Summit 2005 winner Francesca Dani will participate in Brazilian WCS 2007 Final, according to JBC, the publishing company that organizes the event in Brazil. An anime adaptation of the seinen manga Shigurui, written by Norio Nanjo and drawn by Takayuki Yamaguchi, has been announced and is planned to be aired in September. |
