Viz has announced a new Shojo Beat event -- Macy's Passport 2007 Sweepstakes, where the winners will receive tickets to the Macy's Fashion Inform event taking place on 9/18 in San Francisco and on 9/28 in Los Angeles.

Brazilian publsiher Conrad Publishing has licensed Akira Toriyama's Cowa, and will be releasing manga in Brazil this October. Other Toriyama manga licensed by Conrad include Kajika, Neko Majin, Marusaku, Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball.

ANN reports that a group of 11 manga artists, including Tetsuya Chiba, Takehiko Inoue and Go Nagai, has won a lawsuit against 2 manga uploaders who uploaded their manga onto the internet. As a result, the uploaders are fined 20.5 million for copyright infringement:
