Yoshihiro Yonezawa Memorial LibraryThe doujinshi collection of Yoshihiro Yonezawa, manga critic and co-founder of Comiket, was donated to Meiji University, his former university. The university is converting a seven-storey building to house Yonezawa's collection and that of Tsuguo Iwata, another prominent doujinshika, as the Yoshihiro Yonezawa Memorial Library of Manga and Subcultures. Comiket has kept a sample copy of every doujinshi sold at the event, and is thinking about making them available as part of the library's collection. The Memorial Library will open in the Japanese summer. The official website is open, and has an interview with Eiko Yonezawa, Yoshihiro Yonezawa's wife who also co-founded Comiket. |
