CAEAA Puts Out Call World-wide for Judges for the 2007 Elans Video Game and Animation Categories

VANCOUVER July 24, 2007 - The 2nd Annual Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts (CAEAA), along with their Event Partners Electronic Arts (EA), Autodesk/Annex Pro, N-GAGE by NOKIA, Ernst & Young and the British Columbia Provincial Government announced their call for Judges today to Video Game and Animation Companies around the world for the 2007 Elans held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Friday, November 2nd, 2007 at The Centre in Vancouver for the Performing Arts.

While the Awards are primarily held for the globally-renowned work of Canadian companies, like the Oscars, the Elans now have International Categories to include accolade to every participating country around the world. "Outstanding Innovation in Gaming" (open to all companies including Canada), "International Game of the Year", "Best International Feature Length Animated Production", "Best International Animated Production (Television Series)" and "International Student of the Year Award" round out the International Categories added to the 2007 Elans. "The response to our Call for Submissions has been absolutely outstanding," says Elans Founder and Producer, Holly Carinci. "This is the first year we opened to international competition and we haven't even staged our second awards show, yet we received just amazing, even excited, replies from Animation Studios, Video Game Companies and Digital Art/New Media Institutions from around the world. Russia, India, Scotland, Spain, France, the Netherlands, China, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Korea ... loads from the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand ... Did I mention the Czech Republic?" smiles Carinci.

The Canadian Judges will have their hands full selecting the final four nominees and ultimately the winner in each of the International Categories as well as the finest Digital Art Students in Canada, while the International Judges will have the difficult job of trying to choose the top talent and productions in each of the twenty-four Canadian Categories for Video Gaming and Animation from world-leading companies including EA, Nelvana Studios, Ubisoft, Sony Pictures, Studio B Production, next level games, Cuppa Coffee Studios, Mercury Filmworks, Radical Entertainment, Voicebox Productions, XGen Studios, Bardel Entertainment, Bluecastle Games, AKA Cartoons and many, many, MANY more.

The CAEAA Judicial Process is as follows:

• Jury Panels consist of 5 Jurors per Panel.
• Each Category has one Panel.
• No Juror sits on more than one Panel.
• Each Industry's Panels consist of Jurors from within their Industry.
• All Companies/Institutions providing Jurors may provide more than one.
• No two representatives from one Company/Institution will be selected by the CAEAA to sit on the same Panel.
• Every Juror must sign a non-conflict agreement to be approved by the CAEAA.
• Each CAEAA Industry Category is juried by Panels from outside of Canada.
• Each International Category is juried by Panels from within Canada.

Anyone working full time in the Animation or Video Game industry who would like to be a Judge for the 2007 Elans, please email the Producer, Holly Carinci, directly at holly@caeaa.com. Names of both the Judges and their Companies will be released but not the Category Panel on which they have been placed prior to the month of September 2007 during which all Judicial Process will be completed.
