- The first issue of a new manga anthology titled Arcana will be released by Ichijinsha on 10/25. The anthology will feature works by mangaka from WARD and Comic ZERO-SUM.

- Trial readings of Square-Enix's new magazine GanGan Custom can be found on GanGan Custom's official site.

On Sept, 30th, Beijing No.1 Intermediate People's Court (IPC) dismissed Futabasha's dispute with a Chinese firm (Guangzhou Cheng Yi Optical Co., Ltd.) over the trademark of "Crayon Shin-Chan." Futabasha later appealed to Beijing High People's Court.

Kodansha has announced that it plans to revive the 6 volumes of "Gundam Magazine," which ran from December 1990 - June 1991. Kodansha will be releasing the magazine in a complete boxset on sale in December for 8000 yen.

Yoshihiro Yonezawa (53), co-founder and president of the famous semi-annual Tokyo Comiket event, passed away on October 1st due to lung cancer. Yoshihiro Yonezawa is also a well-known manga critic, some of his works include:
