Ivrea Publishing, one of the biggest publisher of Japanese and Korean comics in Argentina, has licensed and released Mayu Shinjo's shoujo manga Junai Strip (純愛ストリップ) (Argentine title is Amor Al Desnudo). Livrea also announced the acquisition of Yuji Shiozaki's Tachibana, which will be released in February of 2008.

Last week, Toei Animation's president and COO Yosuke Kobayashi and director Kaz Yamashita visited Brazil. The two talked with specialized press, and Papo de Budega was present during the occasion.

One of reasons of the visit is to review the Brazilian and Latin American anime distribution scene. The company wants to give more attention to countries around the region. Their focus is on free TV (broadcast), instead of cable TV.

Ivrea Publishing will be releasing in Argentina two manga from Argentine artists. Automatik Kilombo by Sergio Colonel and Casa de Brujas (Witches' House) by Patricia Leonardo.

Publishing Ivrea, one of the biggest publisher of Japanese comics in Argentina, has announced its plans to release Korean manhwa in 2007. While no other details have been disclosed by Ivrea, some launch titles that were announced inclde: Archlord (the first launch title), Cafe Occult, Forest of the Gray City and Baljak and Nabi.

Satoshi Kon is known for works such as Tokyo Godfathers, Millennium Actress, Perfect Blue, Paranoia Agent, and more. Papo de Budega has conducted a small interview with Viz Media regarding the release status of its manga titles in Latin America. Contrary to what has been said on numerous Latin web forums, Viz currently has no plans to release Ichigo 100% and Megaman: Starforce in Latin America.

According to Viz Media's Senior Director Public Relations Evelyn Dubocq: "We are not planning to sell Megaman: Starforce or Ichigo100% [in Latin America]." According to Evelyn, the recent rumors are not official and have nothing to do with Viz Media.

Ivrea Publishing has announced that it will release Battle Club manga by Yuji Shiozaki (Ikkitousen) in Argentina this month. The series is about the story of a guy named Mokichi, his school, and adventures of love. The title is currently serialized in the bi-weekly magazine Young King in Japan.

A new anime block similar to Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, called OTACRAZE, will premier on Brazilian Play TV on March 5, 2007 from Cloverway.

Cloverway General Manager Daniel Catañeda remarked: "We are negotiating OTACRAZE for all of Latin America, but Brazil will be the country where it all starts."

Cartoon Network Latin America will be airing Saint Seiya - Hades Phase starting March 12th at 12:30 a.m. (Monday to Tuesday, local schedules). Saint Seiya will be on Toonami along with other shows such as Pokemon, Naruto, Zatch Bell, Captain Tsubasa, Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ranma ½ and InuYasha.
