EventThe Hong Kong Ani-Com/ 3rd Hong Kong Game Fair is finally over, and this year's attendance figure is the highest ever. 80,000 showed up on the opening first day, the average attendance number over the weekend is 112,000, and the final night of the convention saw 78,000 fans attend. An estimated 490,000 people attended this year's Hong Kong Comic Fest over the course of 5 days, which is 16% higher than last year's numbers. Around 17,000 visitors are expected at this year's Arena Gamer Experience 2006 in Brazil. The Brazilian Trade fair will feature five major gaming competitions, including final qualifying rounds of a worldwide championship. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of its annual Osamu Tezuka Cultural Award event, and the many manga artist and judges involved, Asahi Shimbun will be hosting the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Award 10th Anniversary event, "Manga Mirai Seiki " (Literally: Manga Future Century), on 9/10 at the Yurakucho Asahi Hall. Past award winners, nominees, judges, and other manga artists will take part in the event. Together with its sponsor CineAqua, the festival will host the IMAF 2006 Manga and Anime Design Competition and Awards, with an overall prize fund worth $85,000 . Dark Horse Comic Con Preview Night Announcements: AnimeCon - one of the biggest anime events in Brazil, will take place this weekend (July 21, 22 and 23) in S??o Paulo. While some of AnimeCon's events will be similar to Anime Friends, there'll also be presentations/lectures from publishers of game magazines, national attractions, and the attendance of the Naruto voice actors. The famed creator of Yellow and Hero Heel has decided to stop by and say "hi" at two special book signings in the LA metro area on Sunday, July 30, 2006. The 2006 Hong Kong Comics Festival (8th Hong Kong Ani-Com/ 3rd Hong Kong Game Fair) will take place between 7/28-8/1 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year an estimated 480,000 people are expected to attend. Companies and officials from Mainland China are expected to attend, and will be discussing the future of Anime/Manga in China with the help of Hong Kong's market. The SANA Convention (Super Amostra Nacional de Animes) will take place on July 15-16 in Fortaleza City (CE - Brazil). Events include video exhibitions, cosplay competitions, and more. The main attraction this year is the presence of popular voice actors (Gilberto Baroli, Christiano Torre????o, Miriam Fischer, ????lcio Sodr????) and journalists (Elza Keiko and Sidney Gusman). |
