A new adult manga magazine from Oaks titled Comic Ran-Oh! will begin publication on the 26th of this month. The magazine will sell for 500 yen. According to Oaks, the magazine is "an adult's magazine that surpasses a young man's magazine." According to the latest entry in Icarus Publishing's blog, the adult publisher has acquired Tohru Nishimaki's Scarlet Desire (NSFW). On 9/1, the hosts of a Taiwanese variety show called "The Guess Show" (????????????????????????) introduced the light novel The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya as an adult light novel by saying it's "obviously H" and "so A[dult]," and went on to read out "adult scenes" from the book. The episode caused an uproar from the online community and the fans. The host's response was: "Obviously what I said weren't from the novel, I'm also a Haruhi fan, it's not my fault if they can't take a little joke." In the end, the show did not apologize. An illustrator named Masaya Miyashita (39) from Matsuyama city was arrested for creating and selling obscene manga. Police confiscated 6,600 manga during the arrest. According to reports, the artist ordered 17,000 copies of his work from a printing company in Okayama Prefecture, and even allowed doujin bookstores to sell the manga in Tokyo and Kanagawa last year.
