On June 7th, the Kyoto Prefecture's local government investigated and labeled 13 loli manga as "harmful book."

The fact that manga containing excessive sexual content can be accessed by juvenile at common bookstores and convenience stores is regarded as a social problem in Japan. As a result, the Kyoto local government has decided to label manga containing inappropriate content involving elementary school girls, also there will be a meeting with the Juveniles Growth Planning Committee on the 15th to further discuss this matter.

On June 8th, the Osaka Prefecture Police Department (OPPD) Juvenile Section conducted a comprehensive investigation of 70 bookshops and convenience stores.

The goal of the inspection was to check the availability of Shoujo manga that were labeled as "harmful book" due to their excessive sexual contents. According to the report, the OPPD displayed special interest in shojo manga that contain excessive sexual contents that can't be seen on their covers.

According to Xtra.ca, a shipment of erotic/gay comic books headed for Priape, Montreal was confiscated by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) due to obscene content. Icarus Blog and Newsarama point out that the shipment contained French editions of manga by Gengoroh Tagame.

From Icarus Publishing's blog comes a preview (NSFW) of the adult manga coming out in August 2007, based on Diamond Previews for June (Shipping in August 07).

According to Chuosha, with only 5 issues released, JC Shuppan's adult manga magazine COMIC CROSS (?????????????????????) will cease publication on June 2nd. The magazine was launched in October 2006. Comic Cross will be succeeded by Comic Manten.

Also, Core Magazine released the first issue of its new adult manga magazine Comic Mega GOLD on May 25th.

ICv2 reports that Seven Seas Entertainment has decided to cancel the publication of Kaworu Watashiya's seinen comedy, Nymphet (Kodomo no Jikan) in the U.S. According to Seven Seas president Jason Deangelis, they have decided it not appropriate Nymphet in the U.S. A full explaination from Jason Deangelis can be found here.
