Yen PressAccording to the latest issue of PWCW, Korean manhwa publisher ICE Kunion will be completely absorbed by Hachette's new manga imprint Yen Press. Yen Press will begin releasing ICE Kunion titles beginning in spring of 2008, and plans to release 30-40 titles by the end of 2008. Also, former ICE Kunion editorial director Ju-Youn Lee is now Yen Press' senior editor. MangaBlog points out that although Yen Press' official site does not contain any information the publisher's upcoming titles, a release schedule can be found on this Hachette order form (PDF). From Newsarama comes an interview with Kurt Hassler and Rich Johnson from Yen Press, who discuss Yen Press' initial launch titles, their relationship with Square-Enix, and the future of Yen Press. MangaBlog reports that Yen Press has licensed Keiko Tobe's Hikari to Tomoni.... Hikari to Tomoni... is currently serialized in Akita Shoten's Missy magazine. In 2004 the work won the 8th Japan Media Arts Festival Excellence Prize. Yen Press will release Hikari to Tomoni... in the U.S. under the title With the Light: Raising an Autistic Child. MangaBlog reports that Yen Press is planning to publish a new manga anthology sometime in 2008. The new magazine will feature 6 to 8 stories each issues.
