Special Theatrical Premiere and Preview Round Out Schedule for Nation's Largest Comics Event San Francisco, CA, JULY 13, 2006 - VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), one of the entertainment industry's most innovative and comprehensive publishing, animation and licensing companies, has announced a variety of special events, theatrical premieres, and speaker panels in and around the 2006 Comic-Con International. Comic-Con takes place July 20-23 at the convention center in San Diego, CA. NETCOMICS, the newest kid on the Asian comics block, is gearing up for its first stint at the San Diego International Comic Con, which is set to take place on July 20-23, 2006. Backed by one of the biggest names in manhwa, NETCOMICS is getting ready to stand their ground amidst some of the most important names in the graphic novel scene. With over 20 titles in their first year and still growing, they've certainly got something to tickle anyone's fancy.
Living Corpse by Hideshi Hino will be made into a sci-fi action-thriller titled "The Drowning Man." From Love Manga comes an interview with artists Sonia Leong and Emma Vieceli from the U.K. manga group Sweatdrop Studios. Hiderou Horibe (36), a well-known artist in Japan, passed away on June 17th due to acute heart failure. GRIMJACK GOES 3D WITH REELART STUDIOS ReelArt Studios has licensed with The Nightsky GrimJack Rights and Production Vehicle LLC to create resin statues and busts featuring the characters from the Grimjack comic book series and other intellectual property holdings of the company. A "Parapara Manga" is a comic book where the reader flips through the pages rapidly so the pictures appear to be moving.
