July, 2007Tomihiko Morimi's award winning novel Yoru wa Mijikashi Aruke-yo Otome will be adapted into a manga in the upcoming issue of Zoukan Ace Assault (July 10th). The manga will be drawn by Ranmaru Kotone. Yoru wa Mijikashi Aruke-yo Otome (Walk, Girls, Walk as the Night Is Short) was released by Kadokawa Shoten in November 2006, and was awarded the 20th Yamamoto Shugoro Prize in 2007. Chuosha reports that Leed's monthly manga magazine Shounen Fang will cease publication with its September issue (on sale 7/19), exactly a year after it was launched. Phoenix, AZ, July 9, 2007 - Yaoi Press, the leading publisher of manga influenced yaoi, announces Yaoi Jamboree, a new fan convention to run June 20-22nd in Phoenix Arizona. "We were eager to see more bl themed conventions start up," says Yaoi Press Publisher, Yamila Abraham. "The staff for two Phoenix area anime conventions approached us about starting one. Once we saw we had competent people to operate the show it was an easy decision for us." According to a Super Dash Bunko advertisement that appeared in Weekly Shounen Jump No. 32 (7/9), Katayama Kentarou (Author) and Yamamoto Yamato (Illustrator)'s light novel series Kure-nai will be adapted into a manga. The new manga will start in the first issue Shueisha's new magazine Jump Square (11/2). A preview of the manga will appear in Akamaru Jump (on sale in August). Otaku blog ikimashou.net has announced the winners of its 1,000th post anime/manga/figurine contest. Saint Seiya - The Lost Canvas is the newest manga to be published in Brazil by JBC Publishing. The first volume of the manga was released on the first day of AnimeCon, one The move was a great surprise for Brazilian Saint Seiya fans, because no one expected this manga so soon. Lost Canvas is drawn by by Shiori Teshirogi and written by Masami Kurumada, and was created to celebrate the original series' 20th anniversary.
