One Piece

I'm glad One Piece hasn't over taken Dragonball, I sure hope it stays that way. It was quite surprising to see so many new mangas on the list, I had expected the list to be ruled by the "classics".

imo One Piece deserves the

imo One Piece deserves the top spot. But I for one am relieved that Bleach is at a lower position than its current popularity would suggest; I never liked it that much. But how did PoT surpass it?

i think it's great that db

i think it's great that db got top spot. i don't get why one pieces is above noaruto though.. it's just that it never caught my attention, must be because i'm not japanese.. outside japan naruto is far more popular...

Actually

one piece is more popular than naruto in lots different countries, and the only place its not as popular is in states and cnada but that because of the horrible dub that came out, where everythin was edited into stupided and the show, which i would say rated pg, was being edited to fit tv-y7 rating so thats why its not so popular in those areas but in almost every other country one pieces tops naruto.

NARUTO

Yup, this list must be old-fashioned XD NARUTO - not One Piece or DB - is the best-selling title forever!!! It's also the best shounen.

Wake up. Search Masashi

Wake up.

Search Masashi Kishimoto. Learn his background. Then shut up.

Toriyama had the style, it was original. Kishimoto copies too much.

come on now

your stupid, he didn't copy him he was influenced by him, all mangaka have something or someone who influenced them and to say that they copied them, and especially in Kishimoto's case is absurd, you do know One Piece mangaka Eichiro Oda was also influenced by Toriyama right?, go look up Toriyama sense you think you know so much about him,you might actually learn something

I don't think so, kishimoto

I don't think so, kishimoto is the best ...

i don't get why one pieces

i don't get why one pieces is above noaruto though.. it's just that it never caught my attention, must be because i'm not japanese..

Naruto?

Well Naruto is great if it wasn't because of multiple stupid fillers. I've just lost lots of my appetite with it. In comparison to One Piece or Bleach, I can't give a comment about it. But with Dragon Ball? Naruto will never get close to it.

Can someone actually (no pun intended) confirm this? I read Deppey's Jounalista column and usually during the week he post charts of the bestselling graphic novels from selected countries. In France, I usually see Naruto as #1 and in one of his archives the publisher of Naruto usually prints 130,000 up per volume & One Piece does not really come to that figure. So can someone please confirm this comipress? anyone? anyone?

One Piece Rocks

Oh come on. One Piece rocks. it suppose to be in the topest rank for all country. but thanks to US dub by 4kids. and Naruto should be down below. Im just proud that one piece is that high. and also not proud why is bleach lower than Naruto. and One Piece
got sold more than that. one piece sold a volume that had about 140,000,000 copies of it and also One Piece is the fastest manga to reach sales of 100,000,000.

O_O whaaaat!!

plzzzzzz one piece cant compare 2 naruto, naruto is the ultimate anime ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NARUTO!!! im frm jamaica and am tellin u the caribbean is ravin 4 naruto da #1 knuckle head ninja ....ps..itachi is BOSS!!!!

NARUTO rulzzz

One piece is an awesome title with excellent characters which are more likable than Naruto's characters but the storyline in Naruto is much more complex. It is still a wonder why One Piece is preferred OVER Naruto. They both are awesome.
However, DB deserves the unconditional top spot .

Hunter X Hunter and

Hunter X Hunter and Kochikame pwn.

I hope everyone knows

I hope everyone knows One-Piece has passed Kochikame already. I mean, this list is old as hell, One piece has i think 50 volumes out right now, and the list says 39.

im not surprised one piece

im not surprised one piece is better than naruto. Naruto lost its charm after the time skip whereas one piece just keep getting better

One Piece deserved its top spot

I agree, Naruto has losing its charm now. One Piece is getting better and better. That is what a series need. A series need to be consistent and actually getting better and better. Not a series that start off great and later on, went downhill or being inconsistent.

Anyone knows Shippuden storyline now is so predictable (killing off Akatsuki member one by one) whereas the storyline in One Piece is vary as the series revolved around adventure. They're not set in the same place and jumping off from tree to tree all the time to gets to the next place (which basically have the same setting, only different village).

Bleach storyline also getting repetitive. I mean, come on, after they're done with Rukia retrieval arcs they're having Inoue's retrieval arcs now? Aizen plan to destroy Ichigo's city is the lamest plan of any villain can think of. How many times do we get the protagonist protecting his beloved city/village etc since Dragon Ball era is ended anyway?

HxH also deserved to be in top spots

Hunter x Hunter also deserved that top spots. Personally, they're way better than Naruto and Bleach. The only problem is they're been plagued with multiple hiatuses. Thats why the series is a bit inconsistent at the chart. And oh, I agree, One Piece is way better than Naruto. That is undeniably true. Those Narutards should give One Piece (or any other series) a chance before they started claiming Naruto is the best series ever.

Quotes from animenewsnetwork website

"Oricon Book Ranking has announced on Thursday that the September 4 release of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga volume 51 has sold an estimated 1,029,249 copies in one week. Volume 50 also sold one million copies in its first week in June. In all, Shueisha has printed 140 million copies of One Piece manga volumes so far. Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto volume 43 also sold over 1 million copies after its July 4 release, but it took one month to reach that mark."

It's harder to be number one in Japan compared to any other countries. We all knows Japan produced and making new manga and anime everyday. If the series wanted to be number one, they should conquering its home town first. One Piece did it for +10 years. They're still up there and still going on strong.

p/s I think Naruto and Bleach is popular today because foreigners (especially kids) always have a thing with Ninja and Samurai cultures from Japan.
