On Sep 10th, Segolene Royal, a popular member of the French congress, announced her candidacy for the coming election for the President of France.

Despite the dissenters inside her Socialist Party, Segolene Royal is one of the top presidential candidate according to most French opinion polls. Segolene Royal's opponent in the upcoming election in the May of next year will be Nicolas Sarkozy, the Minister of the Interior from the "Union for a Popular Movement." There is a possibility that France will see its first female President.

ANS reports that a new Osamu Tezuka art exhibition called "Tezuka: the Marvel of Manga" will take place in Australia at NGV International on 3 November 2006.

According to Tony Ellwood, NGV Deputy Director, "The planning of Tezuka: the Marvel of Manga has involved over five years of complex negotiations to release important material from Tezuka Productions in Tokyo. This is the first time Tezuka's original drawings have been seen in the West."

Kodansha has announced that it plans to revive the 6 volumes of "Gundam Magazine," which ran from December 1990 - June 1991. Kodansha will be releasing the magazine in a complete boxset on sale in December for 8000 yen.
