From Weekly Jump Readers' Journal comes an article feature titled "WSJ Illustrated Guide: pt. 5 (1995-1999)," Part 5 of a 6-part series of articles that look at important Shonen Jump serializations, with a focus on titles that were adapted into anime.

A manga adaptation of Atlus' game Etrian Odyssey II (世界樹の迷宮II ) (also known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu or Yggdrasil Labyrinth) by FLIPFLOPs will begin serialization in the March issue of Ichijinsha's Comic REX, on sale 2/9. Also starting in the same issue is a new manga titled Eru-Eru Sister (える・えるシスター) by Yokoshima Takemaru.

Last but not least, an important announcement will be made regarding Takenashi Eri's Kannagi (かんなぎ). According to Moon Phase, it will be news of Kannagi's anime adaptation.

Kenjirou Takeshita (mangaka of Cocoon and Happy World!) will start a new manga titled Tsuriya Nagare (釣り屋 ナガレ) in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion No.6 (1/10).

A new manga titled Nana to Kaoru (ナナとカオル) from Ryuta Amazume, mangaka of Toshiue no Hito, began serialization in Hakusensha's Young Animal Arashi No.2, on sale 1/4. A preview of the title can be found on this page (click the lower right "Enter")

Also, a new title by Tatsuya Mikami called Kiryuuin Saeko Tantei Jimusho (鬼龍院冴子 探偵事務所) will begin serialization in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits No.8 (1/21).

Kouji Kumeta is known for the manga Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, which was adapted into an anime last year and is currently serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine.

In chapter 118 of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Kumeta wrote:

"if Jump SQ shows intention to collaborate, I may consider creating a new fantasy manga for it."

Since then, rumors and discussions about a new Kumeta manga on Shueisha's Jump SQ have been steadily heating up.

Saki Okuse (Legend of Zipangu BLOOD SUCKER) will begin a new series titled Doro Neko 9 (ドロねこ９) in the March issue (1/30) of Gentosha's Monthly Comic Birz.

Shueisha has released new information on the Winter 2008 edition (1/12) of its Akamaru Jump. The issue will carry the final chapter of Tatsuma Ejiri's P2! -let's Play Pingpong!-, as well as many one-shots, omakes and posters. Weekly Jump has the details.

Violinist of Hameln creator Michiaki Watanabe will start a new series titled Violinist of Hameln ~Shchelkunchik~ (ハーメルンのバイオリン弾き ～シェルクンチク～) in Square Enix's Young Gangan No.3 (1/18).

Iwasawa Masahiro, mangaka of Let's Play Baseball!, will start a new series titled Let's Play More Baseball! (もっと野球しようぜ！) in the February issue of Akita Shoten's Monthly Shonen Champion.

Makoto Raiku's Konjiki no Gash!! (Zatch Bell!; 金色のガッシュ！！), is coming to an end in Shogakukan's Weekly Shounen Sunday No.4-5 (12/26). Also, there will be a big announcement regarding Takashi Shiina's Zettai Karen Children in Weekly Shounen Sunday No.6 (1/9).

A one-shot titled Urooboe Uroboros (うろおぼえウロボロス！) by Ishin Nishio (story) and Death Note artist Takeshi Obata will appear in Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump No.6-7 (1/4). Also, a one-shot titled OBAKE LIFE by Ichirou Takahashi (mangaka of Volleyball Tsukai Gouda Gou) will appear in Weekly Jump No.8 (1/21).

Three new series are starting in the February issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace, one of them will be Kara no Kyoukai Comic A La Carte (空の境界コミックアラカルト), written by Type-Moon's Kinoko Nasu.
